Who We Are
The Support Conway Schools organization is a coalition of forward-thinking community members, who believe that community involvement starts with information. We feel that through collaboration and community connections, we can help make the Valley better for our children.
We are advocates who seek to foster educational advancement for Conway School District Students. We inform, and we take the mystery out of the process and structure of the Board. We help ensure that our elected leaders are held accountable and are focused on education.
What We Do
WE HELP TO KEEP OUR COMMUNITY INFORMED
Do you truly understand the ins and outs of the Conway School Board and the impact that its actions have on your day-to-day life? You’re not alone if you don’t. The fact is that many of us don’t fully understand what the School Board does, its role, its function, its reach of power, or even when and where it meets! Boards can, and do at times, behave badly – and that can often go unnoticed until it’s too late. We bring critical information to bear so that you can offer support, provide feedback, and be an active and collaborative stakeholder. By and large, we help you be informed.
WE HELP OUR COMMUNITY ENGAGE
When you understand how it all works, it’s easier to become involved and feel like you’re making a difference. We want every member of our community to have their voices heard. After all, that’s what makes this town so great – it’s our people. And it’s our children who will someday be responsible for helping to keep Conway on the right path. We have intelligent, committed, and caring community members, but at times that’s not enough. When we force our leaders to decouple their egos from their ideas while considering various viewpoints, the entire community wins.
WE ENCOURAGE SHARING
As a collective of community members, we’re better together, and stronger when we share. We want there to be a better flow of information to the public because transparency means something to us. All are welcome, and all ideas matter. A wide variety of ideas and viewpoints is the bedrock of a free society (not to get too philosophical on you).
