During the August 28th, 2023 Conway School Board meeting, Board Member Randy Davison suggested that the Conway School Board stipend (an annual amount paid to Board members for their service to the community) be increased by 33.3%, from $3,000.00 per year to $4,000.00. The measure appears to have initial support from Chairman Mike DiGregorio.
Board Member Davison has been vocal in school board meetings about “fiscal responsibility”. Although this is among his most common refrains, he stated that he feels he works hard enough to deserve a bump in pay. Davison has been opposed, however, to increases to the Conway School budget.
Davison has frequently reflected on what he calls low wages during board meetings but has offered little in the way of solutions to achieve a different outcome for educators.
Davison serves on the School Closure Committee (the IRAC Committee) and serves as the Conway School Board’s Representative to the Conway Municipal Budget Committee.
